The Ginger Rogers Mocktail: Sparkly, Zesty, and Way Too Much Fun
The Lazy Cook and the Healthy Chef Edition
Some recipes feel like instant mood-lifters the moment you start making them—and this Ginger Rogers Mocktail is exactly that kind of recipe. Light, bright, punchy, and cheerful… not unlike the energy when The Lazy Cook and The Healthy Chef get together in the kitchen.
Tracey Bregman (the Lazy Cook) joined forces with me (the Healthy Chef) again for this one, and let’s just say: we laughed so hard we nearly forgot who was in charge of the lime juice. But that’s the fun of cooking with together—there’s always laughter, always improvising, always too many jokes, and somehow we still end up with gorgeous, delicious food and drinks.
This Ginger Rogers Mocktail quickly became our new go-to: it’s refreshing, a little spicy, a little tart, and has that festive cranberry color that makes any moment feel like a celebration.
Why We’re Obsessed With This Mocktail
First of all… the color. That ruby glow is enough to make you feel fancy before you even take a sip.
But the flavor is what really sold us. You get:
- The crisp sweetness of cranberry juice
- A bright squeeze of lime
- Fiery-smooth ginger syrup
- Bubbly, non-alcoholic ginger beer for that perfect sparkling finish
It’s the kind of drink that feels elegant without taking itself too seriously—very much the vibe in the kitchen when we are together.
And yes, we absolutely clinked glasses the second we finished stirring these. (You know we love a good cheers moment.)

A Lazy Cook + Healthy Chef Moment
As usual, the magic happened in the little things:
Tracey kept sneaking sips of ginger syrup “for testing purposes.”
Christine was adjusting garnishes like she was styling a magazine cover.
We laughed too hard trying to keep the ginger beer from fizzing over the top of the glass.
But in the end? These mocktails turned out perfectly bright, bubbly, and ready for any girls’ night, holiday party, or slow Sunday afternoon.
Variations of the Ginger Rogers Mocktail We Loved
Because once we started mixing, we couldn’t stop brainstorming:
- Holiday Sparkle: Add sparkling water + fresh cranberries
- Tropical Twist: Half cranberry, half pineapple
- Herbal Kick: Rosemary, thyme, or a basil leaf
- Spicy Heat: Muddle a slice of jalapeño with the lime
- Frosted Version: Blend into a slushy mocktail
And yes… we tried more than one. For “research.”
