The Chef

Meet Executive Chef Denise Macuk (a.k.a. REAL FOOD Lover and Skinny Chick!) from California Chef Services.

Christine Avanti met Chef Denise when they were both in culinary school. Chef Denise has been preparing unbelievably delicious food for Christine Avanti’s clients since 2006. Beloved by Hollywood stars and fitness celebrities alike, Chef Denise has built an impressive delivery network that spans across the greater Los Angeles area. In 2007, Chef Denise worked with Christine on her first book “Skinny Chicks Don’t Eat Salads” and contributed greatly to the recipes in this book. Through that experience, Chef Denise learned all of Christine’s nutrition and weight loss principals. Grilled zucchini, onions, and peppers in whole wheat tortillas, served with salsa.

Vegetable Masala (Indian)
Sautéed mixed vegetables in a yogurt sauce with garam masala spice.

Spinach & Feta Quiche
Spinach, feta, eggs, and garlic in a fluffy quiche with a flaky crust.

Side Dishes
Entrées are served with satisfying side dishes. Options include a wide variety of fresh vegetables that can be steamed, grilled, or sautéed in garlic, and an imaginative selection of potatoes, rice, couscous, grains, polentas, pastas, Asian noodles, and salads.

Our Real Food meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen, right here in Los Angeles. Our meals are delivered in recyclable containers made of specially-coated aluminum and are oven & microwave safe. We obtain our produce from a variety of trusted sources, including local farmers and farmer’s markets, and we even grow some of our own.

I just wanted to send you a huge thank you for your “Skinny Chicks Don’t Eat Salads” book. I picked up your book last May. I was really interested in the nutritional aspect of it.
